Kwesi Appiah will put his Black Stars hopefuls to the test in a World Cup warm-up against Montenegro in Podgorica on Wednesday as Ghana gear up for the finals later in June.

The friendly game which kicks off at 1700 local time at the Stadium Pod Goricum is the first dress rehearsal for the Black Stars.

Though there are no surprise inclusions in Appiah's Ghana squad, the game against Montenegro marks the beginning of the real work towards Brazil.

Goalkeeper's Adam Kwarasey and Stephen Adams will be hoping to make an impression for the number slot.

Appiah will have plenty to focus on in his defence as he welcomes back John Boye and Jonathan Mensah. Both will be competing to establish themselves again after missing out of some recent key games for the Black Stars.

Ghana's high-profile midfield is well-stocked with seasoned World Cup campaigners. Of the nine played selected, five - Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari, Kwadwo Asamoah, Kevin-Prince Boateng and Andre Ayew - have all played at the finals as Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, Albert Adomah, Mubarak Wakaso and Christian Atsu push for places.

Asamoah Gyan, Abdul Majeed Waris and Jordan Ayew are the only forwards in a squad that will be attempting to improve on their quarter-final finish at the last World Cup.

For the Ghana coach, one thing that will certainly please him is the competition for places.
