Ghana captain, Stephen Appiah is training at Tottenham in a bid to catch Harry Redknapp's eye, says skysports reports.

Appiah has been without a club since leaving Turkish giants Fenerbahce in August but has now pitched up in North London.

Redknapp was keen to bring Appiah to Portsmouth during his time at Fratton Park but could now give the green light for a switch to Spurs should the player impress over the next week.

The 26-year-old midfielder has been linked with a number of teams across Europe, with Juventus, Portsmouth and Schalke all known to be admirers.

Appiah's free agent status makes him an attractive proposition for a number of sides in the January transfer window and it is expected other parties could express an interest in him before the close of the month.
