Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah is not prepared to settle for less as he relishes a World Cup victory over Germany on Saturday.

Both teams go into the Group G match in Fortaleza with mixed results after their opening games as Ghana lost 2-1 to the United States while Germany strolled to a 4-0 win against Portugal.

It will be their second meeting at the World Cup after Germany beat the Black Stars 1-0 four years ago in South Africa in the group stage.

The outcome of their opening matches has littered Group G with permutations and variations with either side still in the hunt of pushing for a Round of 16 spot.

Appiah, whose side are chasing their first three points in Brazil is aware of the high stakes surrounding the game which kicks off at 19:00GMT at the Estadio Castelao.

''It's the coach's job to absorb pressure, otherwise there's no point in doing the job,'' Appiah told a news conference at the Castelao arena on Friday.

''My ambition tomorrow is to go for a win. I'm not a guy who thinks about getting a draw.''

With the Germans having kept a clean sheet in their first game, Appiah is plotting to breach that defence with the hope of landing Ghana victory.

"They have a really strong defence and it's not easy to penetrate it," he said.

"Most of them have been together for a very long period. It's not going to be easy to penetrate, no matter who they put in their defence."
