Ghana captain, Stephen Appiah on Wednesday entered hundred individuals into the community health scheme as he single-handedly sponsored the mass registration people in the Chorkor (a suburb in Accra) community.

The newly registered individuals thus become part of the Ablekuma sub-metro mutual health scheme.

The move by Appiah, who grew in the community, was part of his social responsibility to locals.

"I spoke to my team and we decided to come up with this project to help the people.

"This is the first of many projects I would be undertaking.

"It’s great to give something back to the community. This is where I grew up and I am happy to be part of them," the Black Stars captain said.

The Black Stars captain, who also registered under the scheme paid premiums and registration fees of 12GH cedis per head for the newly registered 100 beneficiaries.

Under the scheme, registered individuals enjoy free health care at all times.
