Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah wants his Black Stars to play without any inhibitions of the past when they arrive at the 2014 World Cup finals.

Four years ago in South Africa, the Black Stars looked almost invincible until they were undone by Uruguay on penalties in the quarter-finals.

But the Black Stars will have another opportunity to have a go again when they arrive in Brazil and Appiah expects his players to be full of confidence.

“Now we’re looking forward to Brazil. All of my players are at very good clubs so there’s no reason to be cautious. We’re going there full of confidence,” Appiah told FIFA Weekly.

After ending their campaign in the quarters the last time, Appiah is striving to make the Black Stars go beyond that.

“I want us to be the best team in the World,” said the Black Stars coach.

“At the World Cup in Brazil, we can go further than we did in South Africa four years ago. We can become greater than the sum of our parts and reach the semi-final or the final.”

Ghana will be begin the campaign in a tough Group G which compromises of Germany, USA and Portugal.
