Despite defeat to Ghana, Anthony Annan continues to impress as the midfielder wins his first individual award at the 2008 African Cup of Nations.

The Ghana player picked up the Samsung Fair-Play award after the semi-final match against Cameroon.

Annan, who earned his third cap becomes the third Ghana player to win the award at the African Cup of Nations.

The midfielder was was handed the Samsung Fair-Play award after Thursday evening’s game at the Ohene Djan Stadium.

Michael Essien and John Mensah are the previous winners of the award introduced into the competition by CAF.
