Anthony Annan enjoyed another great game at the African Cup of Nations as he was involved in Ghana’s elimination of Nigeria on Sunday in the quarter-finals.

The Ghana midfielder wants to make every minute on the field count as he pushes to retain a starting place in the Black Stars.

The midfielder who turns 22 in July made his tournament debut last week after Claude Le Roy handed him a place in the starting line up for the final group match against Morocco.

His performance earned him a place in the team again as Ghana played Nigeria on Sunday and says that he would grab any opportunity that is thrown at him.

“I don’t want to misuse my opportunity.

“I have to do my best to be in the team always. I wasn’t surprised at my inclusion for the Nigerian game after my performance against Morocco. I did my best,” the young midfielder said.

Annan’s qualities has never been lost on Claude Le Roy, who says the young midfielder impressed him in the game against Nigeria.

“He has quality. A good player tactically. I think he plays well and he bossed the midfield with Muntari when we were playing with ten men. He has the potential to improve,” commented Le Roy on his young midfielder’s influence.
