Andre Ayew continues to enjoy playing time at the African Cup of Nations for Ghana despite he coming on from the bench.

Though he craves for a starting place in the Black Stars’ set up, the midfielder, son of former Ghana captain, Abedi Ayew Pele, says every time he steps onto the field he grows in confidence.

The 18 year-old Olympique Marseille player is making his African Cup of Nations debut and has played in Ghana’s two Group A games so far.

Andre, however insists, he will keep on fighting for a place in Claude Le Roy’s team.

“Every footballer is fighting to be in the first eleven whether young or he’s old. But like I said, the coach (Claude Le Roy) is here taking his decisions and I am here fighting for my place.

“The more I come on, the more I get confidence. And I think he (Le Roy) helps me build my confidence and helps me grow up in the game,” the 18 year-old midfielder said.
