Black Stars midfielder Andre Ayew has joined English Premier League side Swansea City.

The former Ghana U-20 skipper completed medicals and agreed a five-year deal to join the Welsh club on Wednesday.

The 25-year old winger whose contract with Marseille ended at the close of the season was linked with top European sides such as Liverpool, Tottenham and Roma.

But he believes a move to Swansea City will best suit his development as a player.

“I looked left and right and I thought Swansea was the best choice for me to grow as player".

“I’m going to do everything to be ready to adapt. I’m lucky because I’ve played against a lot of English players in the Champions League".

"I've spoken a lot to players from Ghana who have played in the Premier League,” the son of Ghana soccer legend Abedi Ayew Pele said in an interview after he sealed the deal.

Ayew will wear his favorite number 10 jersey at Swansea, same number he wears in the Black Stars.
