Gamba All Blacks’ hope of an improved performance in the premiership this season receives a major boost from Japanese sponsor, Nihon Berumu.

The Swedru-based club has sealed a one year deal with the Japanese health and energy drink supplier for the coming season.

Aside financial injection into the club, the sponsorship package will reward players for their performances on a weekly, monthly and end of season basis.

According to the club’s CEO, George Afriyie (pictured on the left), any player who tops the weekly chart wins a Seiko watch worth $50 with a DVD player or a cellular phone worth $300 up for the grabs for the monthly best player.

The club’s best player during the season will pick up a $1000 cheque with a free travel ticket for trip outside the country.

For the Black Magicians, the package will spur the players on to improve their performance in the premiership this season.

Gamba All Blacks after a bright start to the 2006/07 season fell behind as they could only settle for 12th place on the sixteen club log.

Meanwhile, the club is close to signing on Japan kit manufacturers, Mizuno as their kit sponsors for the coming season.
