As the first round of the Glo Premier League nears the end, clubs fight for points and continue to challenge for positions.

The battle continues on Wednesday as fourteen sides slug it out in match-day-13 with the final game scheduled for Thursday.

Eleven Wise coach C.K Akonnor has found himself in a rare position of claiming another big win in his second game in charge as his side comes up against leaders, Hearts of Oak in midweek.

The former Ghana international together with ex-Black Stars teammate, Nii Odartey Lamptey took over the reins at Wise and succeeded in getting off to a flyer in their first game.

Wise claimed all three points against champions, Asante Kotoko in Kumasi and with a game in hand, they would now seek to add the Phobians to the list of defeated clubs when both sides meet at the Sekondi Sports Stadium.

Hearts of Oak might be feeling the effects of injuries but they managed to grind out a win over the weekend as they maintain a seven-point lead at the summit of the table.

Second-placed, Heart of Lions who also have a game in hand will seek to maintain the pressure on Hearts of Oak as they travel to the Tema Sports Stadium to play Tema Youth, who continue to fall off the pace after a rather impressive start.

Champions Asante Kotoko will be at home to Berekum Arsenals at the Baba Yara Stadium s they switch focus to domestic league after their participation in the Caf Champions League over the weekend.

The Porcupine Warriors are ten points adrift the leaders but with a game in hand.

Real Tamale United after suffering a loss during the weekend will return home to play Kessben FC at the Tamale Sports Stadium.

Struggling Gamba All Blacks striving to avoid the drop will play All Stars at the Wa Park while Berekum Chelsea host King Faisal at the Coronation Park.

At the Ohene Djan Stadium, Liberty Professional will take on Sekondi Hasaacas.

The final game of the match-day-13 fixtures comes up on Thursday at the Ohene Djan Stadium as bottom sides, Sporting Mirren, sitting at 15th on the table host bottom side AshantiGold.

Both sides will battle for the spoils as relegation stares at them with the league heading for the second round.
