Junior Agogo has put behind him the god-like status he enjoyed back home in Ghana during the African Nations Cup as he tries to focus on helping his club gain promotion to the Championship division.

The Nottingham Forest striker enjoyed a successful Nations Cup debut scoring three goals and earned the plaudits from home fans for his sheer industry.

However, after helping Ghana to a bronze at the competition, Junior Agogo says he would welcome the opportunity to test himself at the highest level in the future.

Agogo's fine performances attracted the attention of a host of clubs across Europe, and while maintaining that he is happy to remain with Forest for now he admitted that he does still harbour ambitions of eventually joining a top-flight club.

"My aim is to play at the highest level because, as a footballer, everyone's ambition is to play in the top division of whatever country their living in and I'm no different," Agogo told Sky Sports News.

"My main focus at the minute though is to help get Nottingham Forest back into the Championship.

"The people of Nottingham want it so bad. They've been craving promotion for the past couple of years and it hasn't happened yet, but I do believe it will happen this year."
