Emmanuel Kwesi Afranie is just happy to have finally secured a win in the Glo Premier League after five games into the start of the season with newcomers, Mighty Jets.

The pressures of the job had gotten to the veteran coach as fans of the league debutants clamoured for his dismissal following their difficult start to the campaign.

However, plotting the downfall of leaders Kessben FC on Sunday to end their unbeaten run so far has handed Afranie fresh optimism.

The 2-1 win over Kessben despite having to finish the game with 10 men has delighted the former national coach who says his team is a work in progress.

"The result is really good for us as that was one first victory this season. It would boost the confidence of the boys," coach Afranie said in a post game interview.

"I always kept on saying that my team needs time to adapt to the premiership level. These are youngsters who have playing in the league for the first time so it would take a while for them to get used to the competition.

"Everyday they learn something new is which is good for their development. But I think the win against a strong side like Kessben FC shows how good we are."

Aaron Amoah's brace helped 10-man Jets to victory after Richard Mpong had equalised for Kessben.
