Aduana drawn against former winners in CAF Confed Cup

Ghana’s Aduana Stars have been drawn in Group A of the CAF Confederations Cup competition.

The nation’s remaining representative on the continental stage, have been drawn alongside three other former continental champions including Moroccan club Raja Casablanca (1989, 1997, 1999 Champions League winners), Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas (1998 Champions League winner) and AS Vita (1973 Champions League winner) Club of DR Congo.

Last season’s Ghana Premier League champions made it to this stage by a 7-3 aggregate scoreline over Fosa Juniors of Madagascar.

The draw which was held at the CAF headquarters in Cairo also saw Al Masry (Egypt), UD Songo ( Mozambique), RS Berkane (Morocco), and Al Hilal Omdurman (Sudan) in Group B with Group C hosting Djoliba AC (Mali), Williamsville AC (Ivory Coast) and Enyimba FC (Nigeria).

In Group D, Rayon Sports (Rwanda), Gor Mahia (Kenya), Young Africans (Tanzania) and USM Algiers (Algeria) will face each other.

The group stage of the competition is expected to begin on Friday, May 4.
