Accra Lions, Dreams FC face off on Monday

In-form Accra Lions will face Dreams FC at the Accra Stadium on Monday in a Matchday 21 fixture of the betPawa Premier League.

Dreams FC drew their week 20 game at home against Karela United whiles Accra Lions recorded 1-0 victory against Tamale City at the Aliu Mahama stadium in Tamale.

Accra Lions are 2nd in the League table two points behind leaders Aduana FC having gone four games without defeat and unbeaten in the second round with two consecutive away wins and one draw. Accra Lions forward Abass Samari Salifu who has scored 8 goals in the ongoing campaign would lead the roaring party on Monday.

Samari, a hardworking and reliable goal poacher is in a scintillating form and has been one of the best players in the season. He has speed, skill and coupled with a very potent left foot but can also play on the right side of attack.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko would also expect youngster Dominic Amponsah to come to the party after scoring two goals in his last two appearances on the road.

Amponsah fired home the winner at Karela United and also netted the lone goal in the game against Tamale City on Sunday. Others include, Salifu Apiiga and Dominic Nsobila, Evans Ampofo and Shawkan Mohammed.

Dreams FC have yet to win a match since Sunday, February 19, when they beat Bibiani Gold Stars 1-0 at the Theatre of Dreams – Dawu.

The Still Believe lads are 10th in the table with 27 points - a record of one win, one draw and one defeat in their three last three games in the second round of the betPawa Premier League.

Coach Abdul Karim Zito expects the likes of Ishmael Dede, Gael Avocevou, Sylvester Simba, Collins Boah and Ebenezer Adade to give him a good match against Accra Lions FC on Monday.
