David Accam is confident of being one of the 23 players who will make the roster for the World Cup as Ghana kicked off preparations on Tuesday in Accra.

The 23-year-old Helsingborgs IF striker made Ghana's provisional 26-man World Cup squad after a successful season in Sweden.

"I'm playing really well," Accam said. "I think it's one of my best seasons so far and I just need to continue into the World Cup."

However, securing a final spot in the Black Stars team for Brazil now represents his biggest challenge.

"Yeah it's difficult. I know my talent, I know I have the ability but I didn't have the chance because of work permit problems in England," he said.

"I had to come to Sweden to work my way up, but if you're good enough and you work hard you'll get a chance, and that's what happened."

With Ghana paired at the World Cup with the United States, Germany and Portugal in Group G, Accam admits the Black Stars face a difficult group.

"It's a difficult group but Ghana have a lot of good players, and on a good day we should be able to qualify from the group," he says.
