The MTN FA Cup continues to produce shocks with the latest being the elimination of premier league champions, Berekum Chelsea by division one campaigners, Nania FC in the semi-finals.

Nania, twice came from behind to tie the game on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium before pulling off a major upset during the penalty shootouts, winning 5-3.

In a season where they saw their hopes of earning a premier league play off place fail, their progress in the Cup competition seems to make up for their league failures.

Owner and coach of the club, Abedi Ayew Pele has hailed the qualification of his team, saying he wants to take things one step at a time.

"I am not surprised we won because we have worked hard over the last years and the players were keen for a big platform to prove just how good they are."

Though the lure of continental football appears ever closer if they manage to lift the FA Cup, Abedi says that is not the priority now.

"What is more important is to continue exhibiting wonderful football," he said. "We want to give fans great football. Africa is not our priority now at all."
