Kofi Abanga's name continues to pop up on the domestic transfer market with reports linking him to a host of clubs.

Media reports on Wednesday claimed that Asante Kotoko had finally won the race, beating Hearts of Oak, Liberty Professional, AshantiGold and Tema Youth to the utility player's signature.

A price tag of ¢150,000,000 had been quoted for the player who is yet to make his premiership bow.

But officials of Tema Youth, one of the interested clubs who had earlier appeared to have closed in to complete a move for the Aduana Stars player claim Kofi Abanga is overpriced.

According to Wilfred Osei, board secretary of the Tema-based club, the placed on the player does not merit his ability.

"In our estimation, he comes no where the figures been quoted.

"We pulled out of the deal because of the pricing," the Tema Youth official told ghanaleague.com.

Tema Youth however claim it's not a case of sour grapes after Kofi Abanga is reported to have signed a three year deal with Kumasi Asante Kotoko starting from July 1, 2007.

Both clubs are yet to complete the deal.
