Competition: 2011 African Youth Championship Qualifier

Teams: Ghana vs Benin

Venue: Ohene Djan Stadium - Accra

Date: October 23, 2010

Time: 15:00 GMT [3:00PM local time]

Ghana are almost certain of defending the African Youth Championship title won last year, going into the weekend's final leg of the qualifying campaign against Benin.

The reigning African champions hold a 2-0 first leg win and are determined to pick their spot at the finals to be hosted by Libya in 2011.

Black Satellites coach Orlando Wellington is happy to find his team in such a position but insist that they will take no chances when neighbours, Benin visit the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra on Saturday. Kick off is at 15:00 GMT (3:00pm local time)

Though convinced that football can spring shocks with a simple turn of events, Wellington says it's business as usual for his side who are very much aware of the stakes.

“We are aware we won the first leg but that doesn’t mean we should underrate our opponents. In a competition of this nature, you underrate your opponents at your own peril,” the Black Satellites trainer, who deputized for Sellas Tetteh during Ghana's collection of three titles including the World Championship last year said.

The Ghana coach expects their opponents, the Junior Squirrels to put in a different performance to what they did three weeks ago in Cotonou.

Wellington has no worries with injuries or suspensions and also has at his disposal five foreign-based players - Mahatma Otoo, Jordan Ayew, Afriyie Acquah, Richmond Boakye-Yiadom and Salifu Amidu.

But he has told his players to keep their focus on the game and to forget about the continental championship.

“We are very focused for the game and will not give room for any form of complacency. We can’t predict the output of the Beninois but we are prepared for whatever approach they adopt."

Seven teams will qualify for next year's finals along with hosts Libya.
