2010 ticket sales to open on Sunday

Ticket allocation for Ghana at the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa would go on sale to the public two days after the draw for next year’s showpiece.

Ghana, a participating member at the World Cup finals has been allocated 12% of purchasable tickets.

Fred Crentsil, head of the Ghana Football Association’s World Cup Ticketing Committee on Monday told the local media that football fans can start applying for tickets beginning Sunday, December 6 when sales begin.

The sale of tickets closes on January, 10 2009 after which the FA will not receive any applications.

Ticket prices range from $88 to $176 for Ghana’s three group matches. For the disabled, that’s wheelchair users, the ticket price is $22.

A link on the FA’s official website would be available for interested persons without credit cards to download their forms and fill out before handing them over to the various Regional Football Association offices nationwide based on the applicant place of contact.

Persons with credit cards do not need to download the Hard Ticket Application Form (HTAF) but complete the form online via the GFA’s website.

According to Crentsil, applicants will be notified whether not their ticket request was successful within approximately five days after the draw date of January, 18 2009.

After that process, successful applicants can go ahead to pay in full for the number of tickets applied for before February 1, 2009 through the bank.
