Despite being reduced to 10-men, Brazil struggled to beat Ghana 1-0 in a friendly at Fulham’s Craven Cottage ground on Monday.

A minute silence was held to mark the memory of Alhaji Sly Tetteh, President of premier league side, Liberty Professionals who passed away on Saturday as the Black Stars wore black armbands.

The sending-off of defender Daniel Opare by Mike Dean after 33 minutes for two yellow cards was the turning point as the decision changed completely the outcome of the friendly before the South Americans went on to find target.

Leandro Damiao run onto a pass by Fernandinho to beat Adam Kwarasey for the only goal of the game on the stroke of halftime.

The victory was the third by Brazil over Ghana in their last three meetings as the Black Stars, for the third time, yet again finished another game with 10 men against a Brazilian side.

Playing close to an hour with a man down, Ghana's backline remained resolute with Kwarasey pulling top saves to deny Ronaldinho from two dead-ball situations and parrying a close header from Pato over the top.

Ghana, who had some regulars missing through injury saw their best chance flapped when Samuel Inkoom failed to control a pass in the box and his cut-back, not finding target in the first half.

Goran Stevanovic made six changes as the game progressed, handing Bristol City player, Albert Adomah and Rabiu Mohammed their senior debut.
