Race for Championship spots edges closer

With two rounds of matches to go in the National Women's League, the race for the two championship spots could well go to the last day of the season.

Fabulous Ladies and Hasaacas Ladies lead the standings in their respective zones but are feeling the heat from the teams in second place.

If the standings stay the same after the final day matches, then it will be a rematch of last season's championship between Fabulous and eventual winners, Hasaacas.

However, the competition from Prisons Ladies and Police Ladies could scupper that a possible rematch of the top sides.

Fabulous, unbeaten and still yet to concede a goal after eight matches are just one point ahead of Prisons in the Northern Division League.

Both sides won over the weekend to keep maintain their hopes of finishing on top.

Fabulous were 3-0 winners over bottom side, Sharp Arrows while Prisons edged Oforikrom Ladies 3-2 in their match. In the other game, Ampem Darkoa were held to a 2-2 draw by Ashtown Ladies.

In the Southern competition, leaders Hasaacas defeated bottom side Ayoola 3-0.

Police managed a 1-0 win against Immigration Ladies while Soccer Intellectuals and Lady Strikers played out a goalless draw.
