West African Football Academy, Wafa rallied from a goal down to beat their host, Berekum Chelsea, by 2:1 in week 15 of the Ghana Premier League.

Stephen Amankonah's first-half goal was canceled in the second half by Abubakari Ibrahim with Eric Asamany notching home the winning goal to earn them another win on the road.

Wafa moved to 7th on the log with 22points while Chelsea remained 3rd with 26points ahead of two remaining matches to end week 15 on Monday.

Chelsea, who suffered their second home defeat of the season, started the game as the better side though they lost Jordan Opoku to injury in the 10min.

The pressure resulted in a penalty when Sampson Agyepong of Wafa handled the ball in the box and Stephen Amankonah calmly slotted the ball into the net from the spot-kick in the 38th minute.

Wafa came into the second half rejuvenated and pulled parity in the 78th minute when Abubakari Ibrahim scored from a goalmouth melee while Eric Asamany notched home the winning goal during additional minutes to drive the visitors into an ecstatic mood.

Assistant coach of Chelsea, Joseph Asare Bediako though admitted that they lost to a better side, said the strong wind experienced in the last 20minutes of the game, played against them.

An elated Dr. Prosper Ogun Nartey, head coach of Wafa said defeats to Legon Cities and Aduana Stars inspired them to grind such a result. "We agreed to give 200% effort if we are to escape a third straight defeat, even though we know its a difficult ground". My boys gave me more than that and I am so proud of them", he said.

While Chelsea will next play away to league leaders Medeama at the Akoon park in Tarkwa, Wafa will welcome Bechem United to Sogakepe in week 16 of the Ghana Premier League.

At the Techiman Park, Eleven Wonders were held to a 1-1 draw by Ebusua Dwarfs on Sunday afternoon.

Ibrahim Salifu’s 10th minute goal was cancelled by Moro Sumaila in the 17th minute to restore parity.

Both sides failed to take advantage of the opportunities in the second half as the game ended in a stalemate.
