Ghana’s U15 Boys and Girls teams have learned their opponents for the upcoming WAFU B Zonal Qualifiers of the 2025 African Schools Championship following the official draw held on Friday, November 21, at the WAFU-B headquarters in Abidjan.
The Ghana U15 Boys have been placed in Group A, where they will face hosts Burkina Faso and Niger in what promises to be a highly competitive three-nation group.
The Ghana U15 Girls, meanwhile, have been drawn into Group B, paired with Benin and Niger as they prepare for another strong campaign.
Organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the African Schools Championship remains one of the continent’s most important youth development platforms, designed to identify and nurture emerging football talents from schools across West Africa.
Ghana enters this year’s qualifiers with renewed confidence after an exceptional showing in the previous edition. The Girls’ team made history by winning the African Schools Championship title at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, showcasing dominance from the zonal stage through to the continental finals. The Boys’ team also delivered an impressive campaign, finishing in third place after a series of spirited performances.
