The Black Starlets have commenced preparations in Ivory Coast with their first training session at the Southern Campus of the Felix Houphouët-Boigny National Polytechnic Institute on Wednesday. The session marks the team’s first outing since arriving in Yamoussoukro ahead of the much-anticipated WAFU Zone B U17 Championship.

Head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum and his assistants supervised the training, which lasted for an hour and a half. All players participated fully in the session, with no injury concerns reported, signaling a positive start to the team’s final build-up for the tournament.

The Black Starlets are scheduled to hold additional training sessions on Thursday and Friday to sharpen their readiness for their first Group A match. Ghana will open its campaign against Togo on Saturday at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium.

The WAFU Zone B U17 Championship will serve as a qualifying tournament for the 2025 U17 Africa Cup of Nations, bringing together the region’s best young talents. With a rich history of success at youth level, Ghana will be aiming to start their campaign strongly and secure qualification to the continental showpiece.
