Togo coach Tchamile Tchakala is confident that his side will bounce back in the GoTV Wafu Cup after a disappointing start to the competition.

The defending champions suffered a 3-1 defeat to Senegal in the opening Group B match on Friday in Kumasi, a result which leaves them bottom of the table ahead of the next round of matches in the group on Sunday.

A brace by Talla N'Diaye within 15 minutes of the first half gave the young Teranga Lions a comfortable lead before Sora Mbaye scored the third goal in the second half.

Togo, however got a consolation through substitute Saibod Badarou late on in the game at the Baba Yara Stadium.

In the other group match, Niger and Liberia shared the spoils in their 1-1 drawn game.

Niger opened the scoring when Oumarou Alio Youssef found the back of the net after 33 minutes but ten minutes later, Liberia drew level through Mohammed Varney.
