The Football Association has announced that each Regional Colts Champion will receive GHS10,000 in prize money, a set of jerseys and 10 footballs at the end of the season, as part of its continued support for regional Colts football and its commitment to strengthening grassroots football development across the country.
GFA President and CAF 2nd Vice-President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, announced the package during the official launch of the 2026/27 Colts Football Season at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
The initiative forms part of the Football Association’s continued investment in Colts football and its commitment to strengthening the role of the Regional Football Associations (RFAs) in the development and organisation of grassroots football across the country.
Under the arrangement, each Regional Colts Champion will receive GHS10,000, alongside a complete set of playing jerseys and 10 footballs, providing both financial recognition and practical support to the clubs that emerge as regional champions.
The package is designed to complement the wider range of interventions being introduced by the GFA to improve the Colts football structure, provide better resources for clubs and create stronger incentives for young players competing at the grassroots level.
The GFA has, in recent years, expanded its support for Colts Clubs through the provision of footballs, player registration and digital licences, coaching education and other logistical interventions.
