The Football Association has unveiled the first-ever GFA Colts Awards as part of the 2026/27 Colts Football Season, introducing a new platform to recognise and celebrate outstanding contributions to grassroots football across the country.

GFA President and CAF 2nd Vice-President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, announced the new awards scheme during the official launch of the 2026/27 Colts Football Season at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

The introduction of the awards forms part of the Football Association’s broader efforts to strengthen the Colts football system and give greater recognition to the individuals, clubs and stakeholders whose commitment continues to drive the development of young footballers at the grassroots level.

The GFA Colts Awards will recognise outstanding players, coaches, clubs, officials and other key contributors who have distinguished themselves through their performances, dedication and service to Colts football.

For the first time, the awards will provide a dedicated platform to celebrate excellence across the various levels of the Colts football structure, while highlighting the important role played by grassroots stakeholders in nurturing young talent and sustaining community football.

The inaugural GFA Colts Awards will therefore mark an important milestone in the history of Colts football, celebrating the players, coaches, clubs, officials and other stakeholders whose collective efforts continue to shape the future of Ghanaian football.
