President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, on Friday, November 6, 2026,led a delegation of the Football Association's Executive Council and officials to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, where the FA, on behalf of the Black Stars, settled outstanding medical bills totalling GH¢84,000 for 16 distressed mothers, securing their discharge and reuniting them with their families and newborn babies.

The 16 beneficiaries had been unable to leave the hospital following childbirth because of their inability to settle their medical bills. While some had endured the difficult circumstances for as long as three months, others had spent at least a week at the facility, grappling with financial constraints and the emotional strain of being separated from their families.

Through the intervention, the GFA, on behalf of the Black Stars, paid GH¢84,000 to clear the outstanding bills, paving the way for all 16 mothers to be discharged and return home with their newborn babies.

They offered prayers and well wishes for the President, his team and the Black Stars, while wishing the national team success in its upcoming international engagements.

President Simeon-Okraku was accompanied by GFA Executive Council Member Samuel Aboabire, Eugene Noel Nobel, members of the Black Stars technical team, Brong Ahafo Regional Football Association Chairman Dr Charles Antoh, Ashanti Regional Football Association Chairman Osei Tutu Agyemang, Central Regional Football Association Chairman Robert Otieku Duncan, Western Regional Football Association Chairman Simon Ehomah, Deputy General Secretary and Director of National Teams Alex Asante, and Director of the GFA Foundation Malcolm Frazier Appeadu.
