The Black Starlets have officially begun preparations for the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations with their first training session in Mohammedia on Thursday following their arrival in Morocco earlier this week.

The Ghanaian contingent landed in Casablanca on Wednesday, May 6, before traveling directly to Mohammedia, where the team will continue preparations ahead of the tournament. The squad is expected to later move to Rabat, which will serve as their base during the competition.

Following the long journey from Ghana, the players were given time to rest and recover on Wednesday before returning to action with their maiden training session under the guidance of head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum and his technical team.

All players took part in the session, with no injuries recorded, providing a major boost for the technical handlers as preparations intensify ahead of the tournament opener.

Speaking after training, Dr. Ogum expressed satisfaction with the attitude and performance of the players during the session. The coach remained optimistic about the team’s readiness and believes the Black Starlets will be fully prepared for their opening Group game against Algeria on Thursday, May 14, 2026.

The Black Starlets will be hoping to make a strong impression at the continental tournament as Ghana seeks another successful campaign at the U-17 AFCON.
