Assifuah misses out of Promising Talent honour

Ghana striker Ebenezer Assifuah missed the chance to be crowned Africa's Most Promising Talent of the year 2013.

The 20-year-old, who won the Golden Boot trophy at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey was beaten to the honour by Nigeria's Kelechi Iheanacho at the CAF-Glo Awards in Lagos on Thursday.

Egypt's Saleh Gomaa was also in the running for the award.

Assifuah helped Ghana to win third-place at the FIFA U-20 World Cup last year after scoring six goals in seven matches.

The former Black Satellites striker who plays for Swiss side, Sion was the only Ghanaian on the final shortlist in all categories.
