AshantiGold will be in the mix of contenders for the MTN FA Cup after prevailing 4-2 against Mighty Jets on penalties to progress to the quarter-finals on Saturday.
The Miners were held by the second-tier campaigners to a goalless 90 minutes at the Len Clay Stadium as the fixture headed straight into penalties.
With Mighty Jets missing two kicks from 12 yards, Ofosu Appiah scored the decisive kick that sent the Miners through.
AshantiGold, who had fallen off the pace in the Premier League title race for now will be pleased with the progress as they remain one of the favourites ahead of the quarter-final fixtures.
