Black Stars forward Joseph Paintsil says the players are focused on a win rather than individual goals in the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar.

The former Tema Youth winger who plays for Genk in Belgium is expected to continue his fine form in the national colours following his outstanding season in Europe.

“It’s not about individual achievement but a collective team goal. I am not thinking about scoring or providing assists, even though that’s my strength but our goal is to play as a team and win for the nation” Painstil said in a presser on Thursday.

“The players are at a very good level with the right mentality, they are really ready for it and we always talk about it, our full focus is on the game”

The players are also rating to pick the three points and make it to the tournament “

“The past is the past and they are always focused on the game. I think they are really ready to give their all for the fans and for Ghanaians." Painstil added.

Ghana are looking for their third win in the qualifiers having already beaten Madagascar (3-0) and Angola (1-0) and drawn against Central African Republic (1-1) and Angola (1-1) in the first four matches of the qualifiers.
