Black Starlets winger Apam Prince has declared Ghana’s determination to secure victory against Benin as the team prepares for their second group game at the ongoing WAFU Zone B U17 AFCON Qualifiers in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

The young winger described the Black Starlets as “little lions” who are yet to unleash their full potential in the competition, insisting that the team is ready to take on any opponent standing in their way.

“We’re little lions in this competition and we are yet to roar. We are determined to conquer any team that comes our way. We are in for nothing but a win against Benin tomorrow,” Apam Prince said.

Ghana head into Tuesday’s encounter with three points following their 1-0 victory over Togo in their opening Group A fixture. A win against Benin will guarantee the Black Starlets automatic qualification to the semi-finals of the competition.

Benin, meanwhile, will be looking to challenge the Ghanaian side after picking up a point from their opening-day goalless draw against hosts Burkina Faso.

The comments from Apam, a student of the GFA Elite Academy in Bolga, reflect the confidence within the Ghanaian camp as the team seeks to build on its winning start and strengthen its position in the group.

The Black Starlets will now look to translate that confidence into a strong performance against Benin, with a place in the semi-finals within reach as they continue their quest for qualification to the 2027 U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
