Black Starlets head coach Kassim Ocansey has handed Ganiu Bentil a start against Benin in their second group game in the 2027 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

Ganiu is starting ahead of Daniel Owusu who picked up an injury in the opening game against Togo.

Bless Dogah retains his place in goal and will be protected by a back four comprising Osman Seidu, Ganiu Bentil, Abdul Rafiu Issah and Osman Hamid.

In midfield, Yaw Acheampong will be joined by Rushid Swallah, Abdul Latif Wunzalgu and David Kwarteng as Ghana seek to control proceedings, create opportunities and score goals against their West African neighbours.

Issah Alidu and Hope Agbase will lead the attack as the Black Starlets target a semifinal qualification in the game against Benin.

The Black Starlets hope to continue their qualifying campaign at the WAFU Zone B U-17 Boys Championship with another win after their 1-0 win over Togo in their opening fixture.

The WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship serves as the qualifying competition for the 2027 U-17 AFCON, making a strong start crucial to Ghana’s ambitions of securing a place at the continental tournament.
