Black Starlets head coach Kassim Ocansey has named a strong starting line-up for Ghana’s opening match against Togo in the 2027 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

The Black Starlets will begin their qualifying campaign at the WAFU Zone B U-17 Boys Championship, with the technical team hoping to secure a winning start to the competition.

The starting line-up features one change from the side that defeated Morocco in their last international friendly in Rabat, with Abdul Latif Wunzalgu handed a starting role for the crucial encounter.

Bless Dogah retains his place in goal and will be protected by a back four comprising Osman Seidu, Daniel Asamoah, Abdul Rafiu Issah and Osman Hamid.

In midfield, Yaw Acheampong will be joined by Rushid Swallah, Abdul Latif Wunzalgu and David Kwarteng as Ghana seek to control proceedings and create opportunities against their West African neighbours.

Issah Alidu and Hope Agbase will lead the attack as the Black Starlets target a positive result in their opening Group A fixture.

The WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship serves as the qualifying competition for the 2027 U-17 AFCON, making a strong start crucial to Ghana’s ambitions of securing a place at the continental tournament.
