The national U-17 side, the Black Starlets, held a one-hour recovery training session on Wednesday morning following their impressive 3-1 victory over Benin at the ongoing WAFU B U17 Championship in Burkina Faso.

The session took place at the Salitas Academy Complex and was supervised by head coach Kassim Ocansey and his technical team, with all players participating but for Osman Saidu who picked up a groin injury in the game against Benin, as the team began preparations for their final group-stage fixture against hosts Burkina Faso on Friday.

The recovery training is an important component of a football team's preparation, particularly during tournaments where matches are played within short intervals. It helps players manage fatigue, restore physical readiness and reduce the risk of injuries associated with accumulated workload.

The session typically involved light aerobic exercises, gentle jogging, mobility drills, stretching and controlled movements to promote blood circulation and help the body recover after the physical demands of competitive football.

For the Black Starlets, Wednesday's session provides an opportunity to ease muscle soreness and manage fatigue following the demanding encounter against Benin.

The Black Starlets are expected to continue their preparations on Thursday as Ocansey and his technical team fine-tune their plans for Friday's encounter against the hosts, with Ghana aiming to sustain their positive run at the competition.
