The GFA has on Monday November 16 began a seminar for all Premier and Division One clubs to enable them familiarize with the new FIFA Connect system.

The three-day seminar which is expected to end on Thursday 19th November, 2015 is being conducted as a result of migration from the NASRIL/license + systems to the hi-tech FIFA CONNECT for the registration of Players, effective 2015/16 season.

Speaking at the opening ceremony on Monday morning, PLB Vice Chairman Ashford Tettey Oku advised participants to accord the seminar the highest possible regard because it offers them the opportunity to improve on their knowledge and update their skills at no cost.

“The benefits of the FIFA Connect include but not limited to the following: linkage to the FIFA Transfer Matching System, connection of all registered players to FIFA member Associations such that Clubs from other countries can conduct appropriate due diligence on Players they intend to engage and its user friendly.

“We have come a long way from the chaotic and acrimonius days of “caging” Players to the not-too-distant past when PLB members had to wait rather late into the night to receive voluminous documents on deadline, and subsequently spent days to vet, query/approved and process licensing for Players – all in the name of Registration.

“ With the Competition Management System (CMS) introduced last year, the Club licensing and FIFA Connect, I can say that we have a launching-pad towards excellence in the management and governance of football”, Mr. Oku stated in his opening address at the seminar being held at the GFA Conference room in Accra.
