The second batch of Ghana’s U-15 Girls will report to the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Sunday for a screening exercise as preparations intensify for the 2025 WAFU B African Schools Football Championship in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

A total of 14 players have been invited for assessment in this phase. They will undergo technical, tactical and physical evaluations at the GFA’s training centre as the technical team works toward finalising the squad for the upcoming sub-regional competition.

This follows the arrival of the first batch, a 37-player provisional squad, which has already been in camp at Prampram. The initial group has been engaged in rigorous training sessions, team-building activities, and performance assessments as part of their preparation to defend Ghana’s title.

The young Ghanaian side heads into the 2025 edition as defending champions, having lifted both the WAFU B African Schools Football Championship trophy in Niger and the CAF African Schools Football Championship crown on home soil in Accra last year. Their impressive achievements have raised expectations, and the team is determined to maintain Ghana’s strong reputation in youth football across West Africa.

With the final squad expected to be trimmed in the coming days, the technical team is placing strong emphasis on tactical organisation, fitness and team cohesion to ensure the girls are fully prepared for the challenge in Ouagadougou.

The CAF African Schools Football Championship continues to serve as a key platform for discovering and developing young talent across the continent. Through competitions such as these, emerging footballers gain invaluable exposure, experience and opportunities to progress through the national team pathway.
