Black Princesses coach, Charles Sampson, spoke to ghanafa.org about the team's readiness for the competition and going into the competition as defending champions.

"Unfortunately, we came a bit late yesterday, so we couldn't train as planned. We were forced to put in a lot of effort today to be ready for tomorrow.

‘’We are satisfied that we were able to have this training, anyway. When I heard about this competition after our game with Tunisia, I was very excited because the girls need some international exposure.

‘’We didn't get it before we faced Tunisia, so this was a perfect time for us. So, we took it, and we're taking this as a practice or a stepping stone for our World Cup qualifiers with South Africa’’.

‘’We haven't been able to find out much about Benin. There's no material out there to see how they play and things like that. But we're focusing on ourselves, on our game, and how we want to implement our strategy’’.

‘’Ghanaians can expect an energetic team, a team that's willing to take the next step after Tunisia and also a team that's preparing to face South Africa. So, I'm looking forward to seeing them on the field and implementing the things we've spoken about since Tunisia’’.

‘’Honestly speaking, we're a team that always has to go out to win games and also to develop the things that we've identified that we need to work on. So, honestly, that's where we are. And it doesn't matter if it's a tournament or not; we want to implement the mindset of always going to win. And that's the sort of mindset we're taking into these games’’.

‘’And our aim is to win it. We're glad to know that we're the defending champions, and it's also a motivation to the girls, and they also want to replicate what their predecessors did. So, I'm looking forward to this tournament "he concluded.

Ghana will play the opening fixture against host Benin on Friday, November 7th, 2025, at 09:00 GMT.

The tournament is scheduled to kick off from November 7-11, 2025.
