Accra Hearts of Oak kept pace with the leading pack on Monday when they secured a 1-0 win over Kessben FC at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium.

The important win lifts the Phobians to fifth on the standings, one point adrift the leaders, Asante Kotoko as they return to winning ways after losing their last game to debutants, Chelsea.

Hearts' most expensive signing over the past three seasons, Eric Gawu scored the match winner in the 71st minute in their match-day-4 fixture.

The victory over Kessben was the third by the Phobians as they attempt to claim league glory this term after a rather poor showing in the previous season.
