Ghana international, John Paintsil kicked off life at the Craven Cottage with a victory as Fulham beat Celtic 3-1 in a pre-season game on Saturday.

Paintsil played 80 minutes in the game before he was taken off as Fulham manager Roy Hodgson tried out five of his new signings.

The Ghana defender joined Fulham last week from West Ham in a £6.3 million deal that also saw him and Hammers colleague, Bobby Zamora move over.

Paintsil is part of the club’s squad that leaves London for Korea on Sunday to take part in two further pre-season friendlies.

Fulham will play Busan l'Park on Wednesday and Ulsan Hyundai on Saturday.
