Claude Le Roy will be on the Ghana bench for the quarter-final game against Nigeria on Sunday as he escapes a match ban from the Confederation of African Football.

CAF has handed the Black Stars coach a suspended $5,000 fine until 2010 for his role in an altercation during Ghana’s game against Morocco.

Le Roy apologised for his role in the row after been asked to explain a complaint from a CAF official that he passed a remark over the watering of the pitch before the Group A match against Morocco on Monday.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s bench would be without assistant coach, Herve Renard. The coach has already been suspended for Sunday's quarter-final against Nigeria.
