Twenty (20) referees have been selected for the 2026 GFA Elite U15 Boys Championship scheduled to take place at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.
The selected officials comprise 10 center referees and 10 assistant referees under the Catch Them Young Refereeing initiative, aimed at identifying and developing young officiating talents across the country.
The referees will officiate matches throughout the championship, which forms part of FIFA’s Talent Development Scheme and will feature some of the best young footballers from the various regions of Ghana.
Experienced referees instructor William Lantey Quaye has been appointed as the fitness instructor for the officials during the tournament.
The technical instructors for the referees include Head of the Referees Department Alex Kotey, Sumani Abdul-Kadir and Richard Kumedzro, who will supervise and mentor the young officials throughout the competition.
The initiative forms part of the GFA’s broader commitment to strengthening referee development at the grassroots level while creating opportunities for young referees to gain valuable experience in elite youth competitions.
The 2026 Elite U15 Boys Championship is expected to run from May 29 to June 3, 2026, with participating teams representing regions and elite academies from across the country.
