The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, (GNPC) has praised the Black Stars for reaching the semi finals of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana beat Cape Verde 2-0 on Saturday in the quarter-final match to advance to the last four stage of the competition.
GNPC, the headline sponsor of the Black Stars also commended the team for their "spirited display of sportsmanship."
“Your unwavering determination to conquer Africa for the fifth time was demonstrated when you humbled , the Blue Sharks to stamp your authority over the game and lift high the flag of Ghana”, the Chief Executive of GNPC, Nana Boakye Asafu Adjaye, said.
“We congratulate you”, he added.
“As we join the rest of the country to celebrate this victory, we at GNPC are optimistic that the burning desire to recapture the cup, which has eluded us as a nation for 31 years, will spur the team on to bring the trophy home to Ghana
“GNPC acknowledges the team’s hard work and we assure you of our continuous support as you advance to higher heights in the tournament. With your admirable performance so far in all the previous matches, there is no doubt that our Gallant Stars would make our nation proud.”
