Ghana can secure a place at next year's Olympic Games in Beijing if the Black Meteors win today's qualifying match at home.

The Black Meteors, who top Group A host Nigeria in the final match in Accra at the Ohene Djan stadium, Friday afternoon.

Ghana lead their opponents for today by two points but would need to grind a out a win because Nigeria have a game in hand, which would be against the group's bottom side South Africa in the final qualifier next March.

Ahead of today's game, much as been said by the Nigerians about one of Ghana's star attactions, Asamoah Gyan with Samson Siasia, coach of the opposing side saying his team would need to stop the Udinese attacker from playing.

"Ghana's attack is a big threat. Gyan is playing very well for his Club and I've seen him a few times with the Meteors and his pedigree is high."

However, Gyan, himself remains aware of the task ahead when both team line up for kick off at 15:00 GMT.

"For me and my colleagues, this is a very important game as it is a clear decider," Asamoah Gyan, who also represents the Black Stars, told BBC Sport.

"It will be us or them going to the Olympics, depending on who loses."

Ghana's Olympic team coach, Cecil Jones Attuquayefio says he has been happy with the form his players which includes Gyan as he prepares the Black Meteors for the crunch game.

"I have been very impressed with my team and with what we are doing. The boys are playing great and I think everything is moving on well.

"You know I never predict games but we must win to ensure qualification after having worked hard over the past months. I have enough confidence in my team's strength to beat Nigeria. It's a must-win game for us," Jones said.

Cecil Jones Attuquayefio says his team would attack and play good football to win on the day.

"We know what victory means and that would come if we attack well and play a good game, aware of the strengths of our opponents. Certainly, we would need to play attacking football and defend really well."

Ghana sit at the top of standings with six points, two points clear ahead Nigeria, perched at second with four points though they have a game to spare while South Africa are bottom with a point on the table of the three-team group.

A win over the Nigerians would hand Ghana the sole Group A ticket and join two other countries on the continent to make up the list of three African representatives for the 2008 Beijing Games.

Only the three group winners qualify for next year's Olympic football tournament, which takes place between 06-23 August.
