Ghana would battle for bronze at the African Cup of Nations in a third-place match against West African neighbours, Ivory Coast on Saturday.

The third-place game comes up at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday a day before the finals which would be played in Accra.

The match would be the first time in 12 years since both sides met at the Nations Cup.

Ghana won the last meet between both sides 2-0 during the 1996 Nations Cup hosted by South Africa.

Four-time champions, Ghana failed to secure a place in the finals after a second half Cameroonian goal ended the Black Stars’ hopes of a record-equalling fifth Nations Cup success.

The Ivorians also lost their semi-final match in Kumasi by a wider margin to Egypt as the holders handed the Elephants 4-1.

Saturday's third-place game kicks off at 17:00GMT.
