The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League has produced an exciting start after the opening two matchdays, with several standout performances and early trends emerging.

The major highlight of Matchday Two came from 18-year-old FC AshantiGold attacker David Gyamfi Junior, who scored a hat-trick to become the first player to achieve the feat this season. His impressive performance has also propelled him to the top of the goalscorers' chart, making the young attacker one to watch as the season progresses.

Five teams remain unbeaten after the opening two matchdays, while Medeama SC, who are participating in the CAF Champions League, are yet to play their first league game after their opening two fixtures were postponed. Medeama will finally begin their campaign on Saturday when they face Vision FC.

Only two teams have maintained a perfect 100 percent record after winning both of their opening matches, with Hearts of Oak and FC Samartex taking maximum points from their first two games.

A total of 16 matches have been played so far, with two fixtures still outstanding. Of the games played, there have been 11 home wins, two away victories and three draws, with 40 goals scored across the league. Home teams have accounted for 29 of those goals, with away sides scoring 11.

With two outstanding fixtures yet to be played, the early league standings and individual statistics could still change, but the opening two matchdays have already provided plenty of excitement, with Gyamfi Junior's hat-trick and the perfect starts of Hearts of Oak and FC Samartex among the major talking points so far.
