Maxwell Konadu will be thrilled to reach the finals of the Africa Nations Championship but insists it's too soon to think about that fixture.

Having reached the semi-final of the tournament, thoughts about the final will linger ahead of a tough last-four fixture with Nigeria on Wednesday.

Rivals, Nigeria, now stand in Ghana's way of playing in a second final at the tournament exclusive to players based in their home countries but Konadu is not looking beyond today's semi-final game.

"I'm not thinking about the finals. I have never done that and I don't think I will do that now," Konadu told www.ghanafa.org.

"You start thinking about the finals or the trophy and you will lose concentration on the immediate task ahead. Nigeria is not a small country or a small team so we have to plan very, very well before we can beat them. The final is not on my mind now at all. Nigeria is the next team to try to beat."

Konadu, who has seen his team put in some gritty performances to grind out results, wants Ghana to show the right attitude.

"Those who came here to play beautiful football are back home and those of us who focus on winning are still in the business. So it's not easy in a tournament to play beautiful football and top it up with scoring a lot of goals.

"We chose to play to win than concentrating on beautiful football. Though it is important to play beautiful football, it is more important to win and win medals than just playing beautiful football.

"We will try and add the beautiful aspect of the game but if it is not forthcoming, we will move on with our game, said the Ghana coach.
