The Technical Directorate of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service (GES), will undertake the Football '4' Girls project in the Western Region from Tuesday, 23rd September 2025 to Friday 26th September 25, 2025.
The Grassroots Football: Football for Girls and Education: Misconceptions of girls playing are key components of the GFA's Women’s Football Strategy aimed at increasing girls’ participation in football and promoting gender equality in the sport.
Organized in partnership with the Western Regional Football Association (WRFA), the four-day event will engage basic schools across two districts, Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly and Effia Kwesimintsim Municipal specifically in the towns of Takoradi, Sekondi and Effia Kuma.
The Football '4' Girls programme is designed to empower and inspire young girls between the ages of 6 and 12 by introducing them to the game of football in a structured, supportive, and inclusive environment. This helps build confidence, develop foundational football skills, and foster interest in the sport from an early age.
